On Friday, the Museum finally held our Holiday Party, now known as the Employee Appreciation Party. The special events crew put together a Las Vegas night for us, meaning free drinks and a craps table (along with roulette and the blackjack tables). Along with the fun they also provided us with other types of bars: a soup bar, a salad bar, a cheesecake bar, and a mashed potato bar.

Wife arrived a little late, so I had already hit up all the different bars. She however went straight for the mashed potato bar. At the mashed potato bar, they serve up an ice-cream scoop of mashed potatoes in a martini glass and then you top them off with bacon bits, cheese, and other assorted toppings. Wife was in heaven (if they also served french fries she would of never left!). We sat down and chatted with some coworkers while she ate but then it came time to gamble away our “money.”

We had $400 to burn and only a few hours to do it in. So, we decided to donate our money to the craps table. The nice part about not being in Vegas and not playing with real money is that you can learn while you play and these dealers took the time to explain to us how to play craps. The only other time I played craps was in Vegas with our friend, Ryan. I did not have a clue what I was doing but someone came up and gave me a $5 tip for winning him money, so I guess I rolled well. On Friday, Wife and I rolled all right. After learning how to play we wanted to go to Vegas but then reality sets back in a we realized that we would end up losing money, plus we did not win the raffle prize of a free trip to Vegas.

After the tables shut down we headed home and to bed. I mean it was after 8:30 pm by that point!
